Research Interests

I study how energy availability and recovery shape the health and performance of endurance and master athletes — from field studies at the World Masters Athletics Championships to molecular and cellular models of muscle and metabolism.

  • Master Athlete Health & Performance — Post-COVID recovery, menopausal symptoms, and injury in track & field master athletes, studied at the World Masters Athletics Championships
  • Low Energy Availability & RED-S — Prevalence, risk, and physiological consequences of energy deficiency in endurance athletes
  • Exercise Physiology & Training Monitoring — Time-efficient training such as exercise snacks and breaking up sitting, fitness assessment, and molecular responses to exercise
