I study how energy availability and recovery shape the health and performance of endurance and master athletes — from field studies at the World Masters Athletics Championships to molecular and cellular models of muscle and metabolism. My current focus is low energy availability and RED-S in master and endurance athletes, including managing the LEAP study at Deutsche Sporthochschule Köln.
